I had just learned that I would be given a second chance; my first-degree murder conviction was overturned, but I had already spent 15 years in prison. I was assigned to a counselor who opened so many doors for me, saw things in me that I had yet to see in myself, called me all the time to make sure I didn't lose focus and referred me to STRIVE/Boston Employment Services, Inc. Upon completion of a workshop at STRIVE, I was actually offered a job there as a Placement Specialist. Here at the Reintegration Center, I help people who face the challenges I once faced." - Regina
